I survived Christmas

I did it I survived my first Gluten Free Holiday season. Thanksgiving was a festival in culinary delights! I made a diabetic gluten free pumpkin pie that was too die for!!! Christmas brought with it a whole set of new challenges. All the tempting cookies and home baked goodies at every bodies homes! But I did it-I did not cheat I did not taste or sample any of the goodies!

My mother even baked her onslaught of cookie wonders using for the first time ever gluten free flour! Love Bob Red Mills..her next attempt will be to find the perfect flour for each style of cookie. She went for a flava all purpose one and did not "alter" her course.

There is one more event to come. We have been invited out to a friends house for New Years Eve. I must admit that this is the one "party" since I was in my 20's (save 2000) that I skip. I am not sure I made it all the way past midnight. Too be honest I think I broke out the PJ's before midnight on that magical NYE event. And my ATM card worked the next day too!

2010 WOW what a date to write I will be 40 in a few weeks. I just don't feel like I've learned enough to be 40! I often feel well youthful, ignorant and knowledgeable. Like I haven't even started to grasp the finer details of life-like I can not think past the moment to understand how the here and know will affect -effect all those coming after me.

I am fascinated by the little things the day to day dramas, the ever changing and developing landscapes of my mind and those of my families. I look forward to learning more about how to adjust to my chosen life style and how to live it with a world that still doesn't want to embrace those who have to investigate, dissect and have a itemized list of each detail, each ingredient, each morsel of food that they consume as well as what they come in contact with. So that they can feel comfortable, confident and healthy.
